What happens if we hit a Free plan limit?
Nothing breaks silently, and nothing you already have is taken away. Existing members keep working; adding a 4th write seat, a 6th read-only seat, or a 2nd vault is blocked with a clear message until you upgrade, and MCP calls past the monthly allowance return an upgrade notice to the client.
Is Free really free, or is it a trial?
It is a plan, not a trial. There is no clock, no card on file, and no expiring workspace. A Free team can sit on Free indefinitely. If a paid team later cancels, it moves back to Free and keeps its data; only the paid limits change.
What counts as a billable seat?
Only members at the write or publish permission level. Read-only members are free on every plan, whether that is a person or their AI tools just consulting the knowledge base. Free includes 5 of them; Team and Business include unlimited read-only seats, still at no charge.
What happens when I add or remove a member mid-cycle?
Your subscription quantity follows the roster automatically. Added write seats are billed as a single consolidated prorated charge within a day; removing one credits your next invoice. There is nothing to reconcile by hand.
What are MCP calls?
Every request an AI tool makes to your knowledge base through the Model Context Protocol: a search, a document fetch, a draft. Allowances are pooled across the team, so a heavily used shared integration doesn't hit a personal cap.
Is the public knowledge base really free?
Yes. Every plan can publish a public site at /wiki, and it stays online whatever plan you are on. Free covers up to 10 published pages at a time; archiving a page frees a slot, and Team and Business are unlimited. Pages that are already live are never unpublished, including if a paid team moves back to Free.
Can we cancel anytime?
Yes, from the billing page. The subscription runs until the end of the period you've paid for, then the team moves back to Free. Your data stays; only the paid limits change.
